I've been wearing a butt plug for seven years at least 90% of the time day and night, week after week...24/7/365. I find two main principles apply to being able to stay plugged, well, virtually all the time. The plug design and material, and the size. Like everyone else, I started out with medical grade silicone plugs, but they began to irritate after just a couple of hours, and no lube will last with a latex or silicone plug, and irritation will set in. Further...the smell and staining of the plug will soon make it ugly. The two best materials for a long-term butt plug is metal or glass—either medical grade stainless steel or strong borsciliate glass. A little bit of lube to get the plug inserted is all I need to wear it 12 hours at a time before removing it for BMs, showers, etc. Clean up is easy. And once I am assured of a clean and complete bowel movement, I wash the rectum with a bit of plain water until it comes out clear. I do not go deep with the enemas; leave whatever's on the upper side of the sigmoid colon alone. The rectum is all you need to have clean. But the most important issue for wearing a butt plug forever...into the years (as I have done) is the design. I have the devi glass plug, but the Icicles #14 is virtually the same. the business part of the plug is shaped like an egg, the base of the egg is 2 inches in diameter. It sits on a shaft that is half the diameter of the base of the egg. Mine is 3/4 inches in diameter. The shaft resides within the sphincter, while the egg goes fully into the rectum and is within the direct location of the prostate (for men) and the base of the plug (which is just as important as the other two parts) is shaped like a donut. The overall plug—egg, shaft, donut—are configured with a slight curve, which follows the natural curve of the rectum, and the donut sits between the butt cheeks like a coin in a slot; that is, it is parallel with the butt crack, not perpendicular to it.
